How I Made My First $1,000 online in 40 days
Without content creation, digital marketing, or a social media presence
I first started my “make money online” journey when I was 21 years old.
Cryptotrading, Options Trading, Freelance Copywriting, and Consulting.
Tried it all until I was 24 years old and I failed, actually ended up losing $10,000.
At 25, I stopped trying to start a business and focused on finding a remote job that paid 6-figures—I found a Remote Commission Based Sales Job.
But this letter isn’t about finding a high paying remote job, it’s about how I made my first $1,000 online in a little over a month without a social media following or creating any content.
This is also making money in a way that you enjoy in either way:
Freelancing a Service
Coaching/Teaching/Guiding
Disclaimers & Warnings:
You won’t get rich quick.
You need to actually wanna help people.
It won’t be easy, but it is rather simple.
You will have a fear of judgement.
Your pride & ego will get in the way.
You need to do free work.
You need to hop on calls.
If you’re not okay with any of these, then entrepreneurship is not for you.
My Promise to You:
You will make money online if you stay consistent
You will enjoy collecting $$$ and helping people fix their problems
You will see business in a different light
You will begin to believe that freedom is possible
I usually speak of mindset and identity work.
But now, I want to be a little more transparent in helping you with the money side.
If you can control your feelings, thoughts, and actions through self mastery, then starting a fulfilling business like this one, will come easier.
You will be profitable.
I’ve helped people like Malachi make their first few thousand dollars in a matter of weeks.
Malachi currently helps middle aged men get into shape through his calisthenics coaching program.
My Story
When I made my first $1000 selling my own service, I was mind blown.
I thought I needed to work for someone.
I thought I needed to spend thousands of dollars on ads, hire a marketing team, and create a physical product to sell to people in order to make $1,000.
But the reality was, I didn’t.
Where it started
If you’ve been following me for a while or gone through some of my content, you’ll know that I have an interest in Psychology and Identity Work.
When I was 25, I had a new niche interest in Psychology—specifically Identity Shifting.
The process of changing your self-concept to the person you want to become.
The goal being making progress in your career, relationships, or your health.
I had literally finished going through my own Identity Shifting Journey where I hit my first $10,000 month, got into the best shape of my life, and started traveling Europe.
I never knew that my process had a name.
My obsession with Psychology made me look deeper into this field.
I’d finish reading a book called The Alter Ego Effect and taken two courses, by Sam Ovens and Arlin Moore. I’ve learned a lot about Psychology, Mindset, Performance and entrepreneurship from these resources.
Literally writing notes about The Alter Ego Effect when I lived in Amsterdam 😂.
Naturally speaking, when you come across something interesting or awesome, wouldn’t you wanna tell your friends and family about it?
I did.
I literally went to go tell all my friends and family what I had learned. Some of my friends were interested and I’d go on to create a “club” or community of sorts.
I had no idea what I was doing.
I just knew that people wanted to learn more about it and how it helped me change my life.
For about 30 days, I’d help people in all sorts of ways.
I made a free course
I hosted weekly group calls
I jumped on 1-1 coaching calls
People texted me questions
I didn’t promise my friends any sort of outcome or transformation, it was simply I teach you everything I’ve learned about Identity Shifting and how it transformed my life.
These guys got all sorts of different results.
Some got better at chess, school, landing $$$ making gigs, getting into shape, creating content. It was literally a mix of everything.
After the end of the 30 day mark, something amazing happened.
My First Accidental Sales Call
I had wondered why I had a random call appear on my google calendar.
I jumped on this call without a goal, but to simply find a way to help this person. Ashton was my very first referral I received.
After a 45 minute discussion of his problems and his goals, I had understood that he needed help with content creation. He was struggling with procrastination, overthinking, limiting beliefs. Even basic stuff like sleep, food, and fitness.
I myself had 0 knowledge of content creation at the time but I knew I could help him with everything else, especially the mindset part.
After I told him how he could use Identity Shifting to help him, he asked me how much it would be if we were to work together.
This question hit me by surprise because it wasn’t in my intention to sell anything.
“It’ll be $997 for me to help you with everything through Identity Shifting. We’d work together for 3 months. You’ll get 1-1 coaching weekly, my personal #, group calls, and the course.”
I had already built out the course from creating a free group.
I created it because I wanted to retain the info I learned from my research and studies.
He agreed with it and we would go on to work together for over 3-months.
Literally 1-week After Ashton
I received another referral and did the same exact thing.
$997 for my services and my help.
Okay, I think you get the point now.
You can make money online by just helping people with a problem.
Now let’s get into how YOU can do the same thing I did.
The 6-Step Framework
Unfortunately, I don’t have a fancy name for it, at least not yet.
But this is what we’ll cover.
Zone of Expertise
Offer Statement
Using your Network
Free Services and Overdelivery
Getting Proof of Concept
Asking For Referrals (Traffic Driver)
Follow this method, and you will make money.
No need for fucking content creation, social media marketing, or creating YouTube videos.
Just need the knack for wanting to help people or sharing your interests with them.
1. Zone of Expertise
So there’s a few ways we can go about this.
Either we choose something you’re really interested and knowledgeable in.
Or you pick something you’re really good at, problems you’re good at solving.
You’re going to end up either freelancing a service like website building, ghostwriting, or video editing.
Or you’re going to coach/teach/guide people on solving a certain problem to get them to a goal they want.
You should already have an idea of what you’re knowledgable in or what you’re passionate about. And trust me when I say that you can monetize practically anything out there.
If you don’t know where to start, answer these questions:
What do people say you’re good at?
What could you teach people for an hour straight without getting bored?
What do you love helping people with?
You can also message a few of your closest friends and family members and ask them the following questions:
What are my Strengths? What can you count on me for? (List 3-4 things)
What are my Weaknesses? What can you NOT count on me for? (List 3-4 things)
What’s my unique ability/skill? What am I the best at in this world?
This’ll give you an idea of where to start.
2. Offer Statement
I genuinely hate niching down.
I hate making offer statements because it feels like we’re boxing ourselves in.
But I need to admit that it makes messaging a lot clearer and fixes your headache.
Use this formula:
I help [target client] to [result/transformation] in [timeframe] without [annoying/painful factor] through [your method/solution].
My old offer that made me my first $1000 was:
I help young men on self improvement turn their lack of direction into personal growth and self discovery within 56 days through Identity Shifting.
I didn’t even have a clear idea of my client or the transformation I’m promising.
The more of the offer statement you can fill out, the more powerful it becomes.
Do better than me and use the following as examples:
I help busy dads over 35 drop 20 lbs in 12 weeks without counting calories or hitting the gym—using a zero-equipment morning routine and meat-based eating protocol.
I help shy, high-potential men get their first real date in 30 days—without using dating apps—through my Identity Shift + Cold Approach Confidence Framework."
Honestly there’s a whole bunch you can with your own services and products…
You’ve probably noticed it in the ads you might see on YouTube or on socials.
Could always use ChatGPT to create a list of 10 offers for yourself in each niche of Health, Wealth, and Relationships and start there.
3. Tell Friends & Family
Once you have your offer statement of what you do, now it’s time to find interested people.
You have access to over 100+ people already:
Your email list
Your contact list on your phone
Your followers or friends on social media
Your family members or immediate friends
Your coworkers
Be resourceful with this part, because since we’re not actively creating content or posting ads, we need to find a way to get you your first pool of interested people.
SWALLOW THE EGO & THE PRIDE.
When I first did this, it felt so fucking cringey but I understood I needed to do this. It’s either you feel cringey and get your first potential clients or you feel it and don’t do anything.
For everyone that you know reach out and tell them:
“Hey [friend name], hope that you’re doing well. Don’t wanna be weird or anything, but I’m working on a project where I’d like to help 10 people achieve [insert result/transformation] for free”.
“There’s no catch, I would like to practice what I know.”
“We will just hop on a short call so I can find out more about you and how I can help and if it looks like I can help, then we can work together for [x timeframe]”
Once you do get a few interested people,
Ask the following questions so you know what to expect when you provide the help:
What are their goals? What do they want to achieve?
What problems are they facing? For how long?
What have they tried to fix it?
This gives you the information you need to know exactly how to help them.
4. Providing the Service
This was my favorite part because it’s where you build your confidence that what you do actually will work.
So there’s a few ways you can go about this, if you’re freelancing your services obviously provide the service.
Build the website, run the ads, fix the car, paint the house, mow the lawn
Really no other way to do this since Freelancing is a Done-For-You service.
Now if you’re doing coaching/guiding/tutoring, you can do the following:
1-1 calls via phone calls, zoom, or google meets
Text support via emails, texts, whatsapp, or social media
A course [if you have resources to build one]
Now if you REALLY wanna blow them away and overdeliver your service so that they say Holy shit I need to tell someone about this asap…
You can do what I did for 1 month:
Invitation to my Online Community
1-1 calls via Zoom for 1-hour weekly
Daily Group Community Calls for Q&As
24/7 access to me via Whatsapp
3-hour Course on Identity Shifting
If you want my help on setting something like this up for free, DM or Comment the word “OFFER” and we’ll jump on a 45-minute call setting up your gameplan
5. Testimonial Exchange
After the timeframe of service, ask for a Testimonial.
If you’ve done a great job at overdelivering your services, you’ll get one without really asking.
Simply ask your friend how well they think you did on your services.
If they’re satisfied then have them record a video or send you a text message of their experience with you and why someone should work with you.
6. The Referral Method
Shit is so powerful, it requires almost nothing on your part.
Ask your friends the following question:
“Who are two people you know that need my help with this?”
“Can you connect me with them?”
Do this for every single one of your friends.
Additional Insights
It will not be comfortable asking to people if you can help them for free.
It’ll feel cringey as fuck.
You wont’ feel confident at all.
You won’t know if you’re doing it right.
You’ll get the fear of judgement.
This is all in your mind.
It’s your identity.
You’re not operating as a business owner which is why it feels weird.
This is why when I coach others on how to start a business, I often start with fixing their identity so that it all comes flawlessly.
Fix your identity. Start the business.
Help people. Make money.
